Guo Renzhong, Academician of China Academy of Engineering;Academician International Academy for Europe and Asia Professor, doctoral supervisor.
Former roles of Mr. Guo are Vice Dean of Land Science of Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, Deputy Director of Urban Planning, Land & Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality. He currently holds the position of inspector in the same Commission and a concurrent position of Director of Key Lab of Land Resources Monitoring and Simulation under the Ministry of Homeland Resources.
His main interests are information engineering of homeland resources, spacial analysis, comprehensive use of maps and 3D cadaster. Due to profound academic achievements and extensive administrative experience, he serves as a member of the technical expert panel respectively under the Ministry of Homeland Resources and the National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping as well as the drafting group of Journal of Surveying and Mapping and working group of 3D cadaster at FIG.
Guo is a productive writer as well. He has published 3 collections of maps, 3 books and more than 100 papers. He has won 19 awards of all kinds: he is a two-time winner respectively of second prizes of National Science and Technology Advancement and of international prizes and a five-time winner of the first prize of Provincial Science and Technology Advancement.
